Waterjetting
Waterjets offer superior cut quality compared to plasma, laser, or torch table with no heat effected area.
L&G Resources has completed many different kinds of projects, ranging from Automation, component manufacturing “large & small scale”, complex fabrication, to also helping the local community such as volunteer work with the local baseball field repair and assisting farmers to repair and upgrade their equipment that may be otherwise unavailable to them.
An important benefit of the water jet is the ability to cut material without interfering with its inherent structure, as there is no heat-affected zone. Minimizing the effects of heat allows metals to be cut without warping, affecting tempers, or changing intrinsic properties. Sharp corners, bevels, pierce holes, and complex shapes with minimal inner radii are all possible. The water jet utilizes specialized software to accomplish this. The kerf, or width, of the cut can be adjusted by swapping parts in the nozzle, as well as changing the type and size of the abrasive. Typical abrasive cuts have a kerf of 0.03”, but can be as narrow as 0.02 inches (0.51 mm). These small jets can permit small details in a wide range of applications. Our machines include an omax 80160 with a tilt head with a work area of 6ft x 12ft, we also have a omax 55100 with a work area of 4ft x 8ft.
This may be done by varying directions on one or several axes, cutter head speed, and pressure. Milling covers a wide variety of different operations and machines, on scales from small individual parts to large, heavy-duty milling operations. It is one of the more commonly used processes for machining custom parts to precise tolerances. Our machines include two prototrak smx cnc mills, and an old school sharp mill.
A lathe is a machine tool that rotates a workpiece about an axis of rotation to perform various operations such as cutting, sanding, knurling, drilling, deformation, facing, threading and turning, with tools that are applied to the workpiece to create an object with symmetry about that axis. Our machines include a prototrak slx cnc lathe and an old school monarch lathe.
A press brake is a machine used for bending sheet metal and metal plate, most commonly sheet metal. It forms predetermined bends by clamping the workpiece between a matching top tool and bottom die. Our machine is an Iroquois 100 ton by 8ft wide cnc brake.
The term fabrication refers to the larger group of tasks involved in making metal products. It includes the whole manufacturing process from designing products to their final finish. We have 40yrs of experience making what you need.
Vibratory deburring is a type of mass finishing manufacturing process used to deburr, radius, descale, burnish, clean, and brighten a large number of relatively small workpieces. In this batch-type operation, specially shaped pellets of media and the workpieces are placed into the tub of a vibratory tumbler. The tub of the vibratory tumbler and all of its contents are then vibrated. The vibratory action causes the media to rub against the workpieces which yield the desired result. Depending on the application this can be either a dry or wet process. Unlike rotary tumbling this process can finish internal features, such as holes. It is also quicker and quieter. The process is performed in an open tub so the operator can easily observe if the required finish has been obtained.
